Overview

Situated near the center of the state, the City of Socorro sits at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet – keeping it safe from the snow of the north and spared from the heat of the south. Socorro is home to Socorro General Hospital (SGH), which is supported by a partnership between Socorro County, a local Board of Trustees and Presbyterian Healthcare Services, which has owned and managed hospital operations since 1976. The facility is a 24-bed, critical access hospital and regional medical center that offers inpatient and outpatient services.

 

The Director of Practice Administration is responsible and accountable for all administrative aspects, customer service and financial performance of clinic. This person leads strategic, tactical and CQI planning and oversees implementation and ongoing measure of same. The DPA has direct clerical oversight and collaborates with Administrative Director of the clinics to ensure sites provide high quality, cost-effective care and serves as a support and liaison to providers.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Healthcare required.
  • Five to ten years progressive management experience in an ambulatory setting.
  • Demonstrated competence in CQI and strategic planning.
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches and leads Quality Assessment and Improvements and customer service processes. Involves the physicians and staff in improving daily operations of the facility. Is accountable for same.

  • Develops and is accountable for patient satisfaction evaluations, CMS, and financial outcome of designated sites.

  • Develops new programs and services as care delivery needs change in collaboration with the Hospital Administrative Leadership Team with primary point of contact being the Administrative Director

  • Responsible for cooperative planning and budgeting process and preparation for improved financial performance of the clinic. Accountable for budget administration and outcomes.

  • Provides education opportunities for self and collaborates with clinical and clerical staff for continuing education.

  • Accountable for directing the clerical supervision so that there is data integrity at clinic and coordination between the front desk and the designated billing office.

  • Participates/networks/communicates with internal and external customers and project teams.

  • Directs compliance with policies and regulatory agency standards.

  • Performs other functions as required.
