Overview

The Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) for SGH is a visionary and results driven leader responsible for the strategic direction, operation excellence and financial performance of the Presbyterian Socorro General Hospital. This role oversees all facets of the SGH operating plan, ensuring exceptional patient care standards & experiences; regulatory compliance and developing innovative operational and growth strategies aligned with Presbyterian’s enterprise goals.  The HCE will lead and develop a high performing team, develop relationships with stakeholders, and champion initiatives that deliver greater value to members, providers and partners of the local community.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health care administration or health-related field and/or business required.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible leadership positions in a complex health care system.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a deep understanding of regional healthcare operations preferred.
  • Strategic mindset with a systems-thinking approach to healthcare transformation with a bias for action and results.
  • Strong leadership behaviors with demonstrated business & financial acumen skills, proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, able to influence across complex matrix organizations.
  • Track record of building strong partnerships with providers and demonstrated success in building and leading teams of leaders preferred.
  • Knowledge of agile or lean methodologies, data analysis / interpretation and change management to drive efficiency and scalability.

 

Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the efficient operation of Socorro General Hospital, including strategic management of talent, financial and capital resources necessary to enable execution of the broader strategy.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational effectiveness and optimal member experiences.
  • Drive operational execution to deliver exceptional health services thru the development of a continuous process improvement and operations plan, including assessment of needed services, provider requirements, resource needs, and linkages to broader Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) and Presbyterian Health Plan (PHP).

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement SGH strategic vision, ensuring alignment and balance with enterprise’s overall mission and goals.
  • Identify market opportunities to drive growth, improve outcomes / costs for patients, and enhance competitive positioning within the region.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence across the operation and team.

Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing hospital operations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Proactively address compliance risks and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Ensure the financial execution of SGH through effective budgeting, cost management, and revenue optimization.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to develop long-term financial plans and forecasts.

Talent and Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Mentor and coach SGH leadership teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Effectively represents the PHS vision, values, purpose and strategies to the various constituencies in the local community and in partnership with board of trustees

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including providers, regulators, members, and community partners.
  • Primary representative of SGH in public forums, industry events, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Partner with board of trustees providing updates on performance, strategy and market trends
